Rolando Tommaso

Tommaso Rolando is an unorthodox musician with unconventional training and an extremely personal approach to the double bass and other instruments, drawn from a wide range of musical and artistic experiences. He is currently director of the music label Torto Editions (www.torto.biz), and his work on improvisation has led him to interact with dance, theatre and the visual arts. He has recently released a duo album with Canadian violist Jean René (Ensemble Supermusique, René Lussier), a compact disc with the Barre Phillips collective and an album with Andy Moor (The Ex, Dog Faced Hermans) on Ken Vandermark's Catalytic Sound. He plays with TRÓNCO, Orchestra Bailam and Hidden Improvisors Consort.
