Grégoire Vaillant

Grégoire Vaillant is a multidisciplinary artist whose talents span from composition to directing, screenwriting, filmmaking and production. At the heart of the Nantes scene, he is the founder of the "Collectif Øpera", which brings together around thirty European artists for the creation of large-scale interdisciplinary works. With the opera "Le Jeune Homme et la Nuit", he notably fuses theater, cinema, digital arts, electronics, and chamber music. His unique profile has opened doors to numerous collaborations, for visuals, live performances, radio, and other artists. He has contributed to the production of about thirty albums, directed a pop symphony for the city of Liverpool, composed a repertoire for the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, led large outdoor historical performances, and regularly collaborates with major players in the music industry, notably alongside Dj Snake, 20syl, Colin Tilley, Pigeon John and Bill Ryder Jones.

Under the name Abraham Fogg, he composes personal electronica infused with strings and horror films, accompanied by audiovisual live performances and a collection of films he writes and co-directs on modern depictions of witches. This project has won about sixty international awards and has more overtly steered his work towards cinema. As a committed local advocate, he co-founded the Znprk artist house, the audiovisual production company Wizard Pictures, the Bureau of Composers in Pays de Loire, is a board member of Trempo, and initiated Echosphère, a 6200m2 building dedicated to professionals in music and cinema. He frequently shares his knowledge through conferences, workshops and publications. He is currently working on creating a new performance about extraterrestrial phenomena and finalizing the script for the series Anima/Corda.
